The old fishing village of Los Nietos is situated between El Arenal and Playa Paraiso on the Mar Menor. It has retained much of its character and appeal whilst catering to its many visitors. The town has several shops, bars, a bank and even a railway station with regular trains to Cartagena.

The surrounding countryside is beautiful and is ideal for exploring on foot or by mountain bike. Best of all, this lovely village is set right on the shores of the Mar Menor lagoon, offering safe sandy beaches which stretch for miles. The warm shallow waters are ideal for families with young children. Watersports including windsurfing, sailing, jet skiing and parasailing can be enjoyed here by the more adventurous. Snorkeling and scuba diving is also offered in the area.

Golfers will be spoilt for choice with the many golf courses which are within 30 minutes drive of Los Nietos. La Manga Club is less than 7km away and has excellent facilities for those staying in the Los Nietos area. It has three golf courses along with several bars and restaurants. The Haciendo del Alamo Golf Club, which boasts the longest layout in Spain, and La Serena Golf Club, which is located along the Mar Menor, are both open to the public. Roda Golf and Mosa Trajectum Golf Club also have world class golfing amenities.

The delightful town of Los Nietos has a number of restaurants and bars around its harbour area. Nearby, Los Belones also offers an excellent choice of international cuisine with Italian, Indian, Chinese, Spanish and Mexican restaurants and a popular ice cream parlour.
