Accommodation in Cabo de Palos

Cabo de Palos can be found on the most southerly part of the Mar Menor just before getting to La Manga. It is a large village with a small marina which houses moorings for boats and there is a selection of restaurants which are renowned for serving a very good selection of fresh fish. The coastline is very good for exploring with both flat and rugged areas. There is a lighthouse at the very edge of the village which is the vocal point of Cabo de Palos, many people take the time to have a look around this area. The beach has smooth golden sand and joins the beaches of La Manga strip. The Sunday market is quite large and very popular with many locals and tourists alike enjoying the hustle and bustle of a busy market. Here you can buy the freshest fish, vegetables and other local produce. Also clothes, shoes, housewares and paintings are just a few of the other items that can be bought. To the side of the market are also a few bars and cafes offering traditional spanish breakfasts of toast with jams, honey or tomato with fresh coffee and juice. The village has a good selection of bars and restaurants outside of the port too offering a range of various styles of cuisine. There are also several large supermarkets offering very reasonably priced products. From the harbour you can take boat trips where you can explore more of the small coves and beaches with informed guides. This is also a popular spot to fish. This is a fantastic place to scuba dive, you can book your trip with experienced companies that organise dives where you can explore some of the ship wrecks, corals and marine life that all hidden beneath the surface of the sea
